These opening bids were devised by Mr. S. G. Bose Mullick of New Delhi, India, and which were published in his book The Relay Club in the year 1975. They are the result of the study of several other opening bidding sequences and/or requirements such as the French Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Monaco opening bids, all of which employ the use of canapé and relay sequences.

1 : 17+ high card points Shows any shape.
1 : 10-16 high card points Promises 4+ Diamonds, or
  15-16 high card points Shows balanced shape.
1 : 10-16 high card points Promises 4+ Hearts.
1 : 10-16 high card points Promises 4+ Spades.
1 NT: 12-14 high card points Shows balanced shape.
2 : 10-16 high card points Promises 6+ Clubs, or
  10-16 high card points Distribution: 4-4-4-1 or 5-4-5-0 with 4-5 Clubs.
2 : 10-16 high card points Distribution: 5-4 plus in both Major suits.
2 : 10-16 high card points Promises 5+ Hearts and 4+ Clubs.
2 : 10-16 high card points Promises 5+ Spades and 4+ Clubs.
2NT: 10-16 high card points Distribution: 5-4 plus in the Minor suits.
