These opening bids were devised and developed by Mr. Knut Blakset and his older brother Mr. Lars Blakset of Denmark. Perhaps in a humorous moment they decided to name these opening bids after Knut's cat, which was / is named Nusine. We have been unable to find a definition for this name and rely on an email sent to BridgeGuys.com by Mr. Jens Hult Hansen of Denmark.

Note: Balksets BridgeCenter.

These bids, according to the source, were devised and developed and refined during the middle 1990s. The student can also view the Convention Card of Mr. Knut Blakset and Mr. Lars Blakset, on which the entry is included for Nusine Opening bids.
