The origin of this conventional competitive defense method is unknown. This defense method is a variation of the Suction convention, or Two-Way Exclusion Relay Bidding conventional defense method as is mainly used in TWERB or Two-Way Exclusion Relay Bidding. It has therefore been give the designation Twerb Suction.

This defense method is employed after an opponent has opened the auction with No Trump. The partnership will have to agree as to whether the partnership should also employ this defense method after two consecutive passes. The reader will notice that all bids are bids with multiple meanings and, via a relay bid is it possible for the advancer to discover the actual meaning.

Double:	This is for penalty. Shows 15 plus high card points. Partner must pass.
2 :	Shows Diamonds, or both Major suits.
2 :	Shows Hearts, or Spades and Clubs (both black suits).
2 :	Shows Spades, or Clubs and Diamonds (both Minor suits).
2 :	Shows Diamonds and Spades, or Clubs and Hearts.
2 NT:	Shows Clubs, or Diamonds and Hearts (both red suits).

This is a specific adaptation of the Suction concept for a specific bidding system and may not be applicable for all bidding systems and partnership agreements.

Note: Some partnerships have agreed that the distribution of the holding, when overcalling could / may be reduced to 4-4 in both Major suits regardless of the state of vulnerability, otherwise the distribution is generally 5-4, 4-5, or 5-5 depending on the state of vulnerability. This is entirely a partnership agreement in all employed variations of the concept.
