These opening bids are based on the Precision and Symmetric Relay bids and were devised by Mr. Steve Starkey of Pecs, Hungary. The following is posted on the site of the forum operated and moderated by Mr. Piotr Kaczorowski. Note: Source.
The main feature of this method is that most opening bids show various distributional holdings, different possible value ranges and definite card length in at least one suit.
Note: The designation employed by Mr. Steve Starkey is an abbreviation of the English word schizophrenia, which is defined as a psychotic disorder characterized by loss of contact with the environment, by noticeable deterioration in the level of functioning in everyday life.
Note: The etymology of the word itself originates in the year 1912, meaning a splitting of the mind, from German Schizophrenie, coined in 1910 by Swiss psychiatrist Mr. Eugen Bleuler (1857-1939), from Greek skhizein "to split" + phren (generally phrenos) "diaphragm, heart, mind," which is of unknown origin. The shortening of the word to schizo was first attested in the 1920s as an adjective, and in the year 1945 as a noun.
Above all else the reader must be aware that the special feature of the Schizo Club is the Forcing Pass, since it communicates information to the partner, and is one round forcing unless the next player in rotation competes.
The various meanings of the opening bids may be connected to the state of vulnerability depending on partnership agreement, although this feature is not known as of yet. The majority of the responses are mostly natural.
