The following is an explanation of the Muiderberg - Muiderbergh Two Bids in the native language, which is sometimes spelled differently and which is sometimes referred to as The Dutch Twos and the Lucas Two Bids, which was devised in the village of Muiderbergh, The Netherlands, which lies near Amsterdam. The concept was devised by Mr. Onno Janssens and Mr. William (Willem) Boegem, who both are of this village.

The Originators

The pictures below show Mr. Onno Janssens and Mr. William (Willem) Boegem. Note: Any additional information as the bridge personalities of either Mr. Onno Janssens or Mr. William (Willem) Boegem would be greatly appreciated.

Mr. Onno Janssens studied management sciences in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. However, during his studies it is rumored that he devoted more time to learning the game of bridge. Upon graduation he was employed as a teacher of civics. In the year 1984 he founded the company Bridge Soft together with Mr. William (Willem) Boegem and Mr. Gerard Hilte, who left the company after a few years. Mr. Onno Janssens remained the sole owner until the year 2007, the year in which he officially retired. The company, however, continued under the name of Arhem Bridge Products. This company also manages the online Bridge Base Inc. (BBO) in The Netherlands. He is a Seniors International Master.

De Muiderberg die genoemd is naar de woonplaats van een van de bedenkers.

Openingen van  2 en 2 waarmee een vijfkaart in de geopende kleur wordt aangegeven en een vierkaart in een lage kleur.
Met ongeveer 7 -11 punten.
Het is belangrijk dat de puntenkracht zich in de lange kleuren bevindt, met name in de hoge kleur.

Door de toepassing van Muiderberg vervalt de sterke 2  en 2 openingen.
Deze worden onder gebracht in de 2 opening.
