The bidding system is represented as a modern system full of stimulating ideas for the adventurous player. The cornerstone of the philosophy is the 1 Diamond opening which promises precisely 4 cards in one of the Major suits; the 1 Club opening bid is a versatile bid.

Opening Bids Only

Bid Strength Meaning
1 : 11-19 high card points Denys possession of a 4-card Major suit exactly.
1 : 11-19 high card points Guarantees possesion of one 4-card Major, possibly both; denies a 5-card Major suit.
1 : 11-15 high card points Shows a 5-card plus Heart suit.
1 : 11-15 high card points Shows a -card plus Spade suit.
1 NT: 14-15 high card points Shows balanced shape.
2 : 20+ high card points Shows any shape.
  A rebid of 2 No Trump promises 20-21 high card points.
    A rebid of 3 No Trump promises 24-25 high card points.
2 : 6-10 high card points Shows a 6-card Heart suit or Spade suit, or
  17+ high card points Shows a 6-card Club suit or Diamond suit, or
  (x) high card points A rebid of 2 NT promises 22-23 high card points;
    Note: a rebid of 3 No Trump promises 26-27 high card points.
2 : 8-10 high card points Promises Hearts and Diamonds; Distribution: 5-5.
2 : 8-10 high card points Promises Spades and Hearts; Distribution: 5-5.
2NT: 20-21 high card points Shows balanced shape.
