This is a form of the Polish Club bidding system used in northern Germany. The designation comes from the fact that the players are employees of a company called High Energy Physics Laboratory located in Hamburg, Germany. The opening of 1 Club has five multiple meanings, which are determined and clarified in rebids. The bidding sytem uses the opening of 5-card Major suits and a strong No Trump opening.

1 NT:		16-18 high card points		Shows balanced shape.
2 :		22+ high card points		Shows any shape.
2 :		17-21 high card points		Promises a 5-card plus Diamond suit.

2 :		17-21 high card points		Promises a 5-card plus Spade suit.
2 NT:		21-22 high card points		Shows a balanced shape.
