Mr. Norberto Bocchi, born September 29, 1961 in Parma, Italy, is a bridge player on the international level. Mr. Norberto Bocchi has won five World teams championships along with six consecutive European teams championships and a seventh European in 2010.

The achievements or Mr. Norberto Bocchi at the bridge table include placing fifth at the 38th World Team Championships - Shanghai, China, September 29 to October 13, 2007, with team mates Giorgio Buboin, Fulvio Fantoni, Lorenzo Lauria, Claudio Nunes, Alfredo Versace, Massimo Ortensi (coach), Maria Teresa Lavazza (npc). He placed third at the 40th World Team Championships - Veldhoven, Netherlands, October 15 to October 29, 2011, with team mates Giorgio Duboin, Lorenzo Lauria, Agustin Madala, Antonio Sementa, Alfredo Versace, Massimo Ortensi (coach), Maria Teresa Lavazza (npc).

Mr. Giorgio Duboin was born September 30, 1959, in Turin, Italy, and is a professional bridge player. Among his achievements at the bridge table include first place at the World Team Olympiad in 2000 in the city of Maastricht, The Netherlands, with team mates Norberto Bocchi, Lorenzo Lauria, Alfredo Versace, (Dano De Falco, Guido Ferraro). He also place first at the World Team Olympiad in 2004 in the city of Istanbul, Turkey with team mates Norberto Bocchi, Fulvio Fantoni, Lorenzo Lauria, Claudio Nunes, Alfredo Versace

     
     

Explanation to the Presentation

The following include only the opening bids of the Bocchi-Duboin System, which they have developed over many years of partnering at the bridge table, especially on an international level. These opening bids do not represent in any manner the complete bidding system of these two bridge personalities. Source.

1 : Promises a 5-card plus Club suit with 11-24 high card points, or
  promises a 3-suited holding with a red singleton, or
  promises a balanced holding with 12-14 points. This is always true in third seat; however, when vulnerability, then this definition also is values in first and second seat, or
  promises a balanced holding with 15-17 points by positive vulnerability, especially in first and second seat, and always in fourth seat, or
  promises a two-suited holding with longer Clubs even with a 5-card Major suit.
  Please Note: balanced holdings can include a fifth Minor, but never a 5th Major.
1 : Promises a 5-card plus Diamond suit with 11-23 points, or a three-suited holding with a black singleton, or
  promises a two-suited holding with longer Diamonds even with a 5-card Major suit.
1 : Promises a 5-card plus Heart suit with 11-23 points; one- or two-suited holding with a longer Major suit.
1 : Promises a 5-card plus Spade suit with 11-23 points; one- or two-suited holding with a longer Major suit.
1 NT: Balanced with 12-14 points; always in fourth seat, when not vulnerable. Range is for first and second seat, or
  balanced with 15-17 points; always in third seat, when vulnerable. Range is for first and second seat.
2 : Promises a balanced holding with 18-19 points without a 5-card Major suit.
2 : Promises a balanced holding with 23 plus point. Game forcing.
2 : Shows a 6-card Heart suit with 5-10 high card points.
2 : Shows a 6-card Spade suit with 5-10 high card points.
2 NT: Promises a balanced holding with 20-22 points, which could include a 5-card Major suit.
3 : Promises a 7-card Club suit; an undisciplined preemptive bid.
3 : Promises a 7-card Diamond suit; an undisciplined preemptive bid.
3 : Promises a 7-card Heart suit; an undisciplined preemptive bid.
3 : Promises a 7-card Spade suit; an undisciplined preemptive bid.
3 NT: Based on the Three No Trump Gambling principle. Promises a 7-card plus suit with top honors and a maximum of a Queen in a side suit.
4 : Promises a 8-card Club suit; an undisciplined preemptive bid.
4 : Promises a 8-card Diamond suit; an undisciplined preemptive bid.
4 : Promises a 7-card Heart suit without top honors; may be an undisciplined preemptive bid.
4 : Promises a 7-card Spade suit without top honors; may be an undisciplined preemptive bid.
4 NT: Promises a two-suited holding in both Minor suit. Unbalanced distribution of 6-7, 5-7, 6-6, etc.
